La Fondazione Salvetti sarà presente a EuroMaintenance, …ovviamente!
''Aiutare a creare una rete per giovani professionisti della manutenzione e assisterli nell'inizio e nel primo sviluppo della loro carriera''. Questa è la mission della Fondazione Salvetti. La Fondazione mira a premiare l'eccellenza nella gestione della manutenzione e contribuire a riunire i giovani professionisti della manutenzione. Abbiamo bisogno di trattenere in particolare i giovani professionisti nella manutenzione e motivarli nelle loro carriere in collaborazione con EFNMS e le pertinenti organizzazioni dell'Unione Europea. La Fondazione Salvetti assegna con cadenza biennale premi per diverse categorie della manutenzione: il premio European Maintenance Manager e i premi Scientifici.
Premi scientifici.
La Fondazione Salvetti sostiene il lavoro svolto sulla manutenzione nel mondo accademico. L'obiettivo dei premi accademici è promuovere, incoraggiare e motivare la R&S teorica e applicata relativa al mantenimento della conoscenza e della pratica tra gli studenti delle Università e degli Istituti di ricerca europei. Una rete di 24 professori supporta il processo di revisione. Ogni relazione di tesi è stata rivista da due docenti indipendenti. A Euromaintenance ci congratuleremo anche con gli studenti vincitori. In questo articolo vorremmo concentrarci su European Maintenance Manager Award della Federazione Europea delle Associazioni di Manutenzione (EFNMS).
Premio EFNMS European Maintenance Manager.
EuroMaintenance accoglierà la Fondazione Salvetti nell'aprile 2023. È con grande piacere quindi che, per la sedicesima volta, EFNMS e Fondazione Salvetti potranno premiare il vincitore dell'EFNMS European Maintenance Manager Award (EMMA). La prima volta è stata nel 1988 e da allora il premio è sempre stato assegnato a un degno vincitore. Questo sedicesimo concorso ha richiesto un periodo di gestione piuttosto lungo a causa dei problemi del Corona-virus. Il presidente Stefano Salvetti è stato chiaro: “Abbiamo discusso ampiamente su come organizzare una cerimonia di premiazione formale dopo il rinvio di EuroMaintenance 2020 e 2021 a causa della pandemia. Questa volta la giuria EMMA era composta da quattro membri; il sottoscritto fondatore della Fondazione Salvetti, due rappresentanti di EFNMS e il Segretario della Fondazione Salvetti. Tutti i candidati hanno soddisfatto i severi criteri di qualificazione delle società di manutenzione nazionali che hanno selezionato i loro candidati. Dopo questa qualificazione nazionale è iniziata la vera sfida della Giuria EMMA. Tutti i candidati hanno effettivamente guadagnato la qualificazione al secondo passaggio.”
Congratulazioni al vincitore.
Il vincitore, Alexis Agustín Lárez Alcázarez, è stato nominato dall‘Associazione di Manutenzione Spagnola-AEM. Il vincitore è direttore tecnico di Enova Levante, società specializzata in servizi tecnici. Salvetti dice: “Alexis è un leader esperto associato all'Asset Management e all'affidabilità tecnica in Spagna e nei paesi dell'America Latina. Ha più di 22 anni di esperienza internazionale in vari tipi di industria. È Lead Auditor in Asset Management e sistemi di qualità basati su ISO 55001 e ISO 9001. Inoltre, è docente universitario in programmi di master e post-laurea”. Come mostrato nel suo curriculum, ha molti certificati e competenze: Eq, criticità e capacità di analisi come RCM, FMECA, RCA e una forte conoscenza dei processi di settore a livello strategico, tattico e operativo. È autore del libro ‘Tools of Reliability’. Secondo la giuria "Alexis è rispettato per la sua esperienza molto ampia ed è un relatore molto gradito e apprezzato alle conferenze internazionali". Numerosi suoi articoli pubblicati e registrati possono essere trovati su riviste internazionali. Salvetti ricorda anche che Alexis ha un dottorato di ricerca in informatica e ingegneria ambientale; competenze che ha esercitato come leader nell'industria del cemento quando è stato coinvolto nell'implementazione della norma ambientale ISO14001. Queste competenze legate all'ambiente diventano sempre più importanti poiché il mantenimento delle risorse dovrebbe supportare nuovi obiettivi di sostenibilità. Per questi momenti salienti dellla carrier di Alexis, la giuria ha concluso all'unanimità che sarà il vincitore dell'European Maintenance Manager Award 2021.
Secondi classificati.
Accanto al vincitore ci sono due ottimi secondi classificati che vanno citati. A nome della Società di Manutenzione Finlandese è stato nominato Ilkka Palsola. Ilkka si è ritirato nel 2015 dopo una lunga carriera di successo in una varietà di posizioni per l'azienda chimica globale Kemira. Negli ultimi anni del suo impiego ha agito come esperto globale e leader del team di ingegneri nella fabbricazione di cellulosa e carta. Nella sua ultima posizione ha agito come direttore tecnico globale supportando tutti i siti di produzione. Ilkka è un membro del consiglio molto rispettato e prezioso di Promaint e membro del comitato di certificazione EFNMS.
Dalla Società di Manutenzione Svedese è stato nominato Fredrik Blomkvist. Fredrik è responsabile della manutenzione per la fabbrica di imballaggi farmaceutici AstraZeneca a Södertälje. Il suo percorso per migliorare una serie di processi di manutenzione è iniziato nel 2017. Tra una serie di risultati eccellenti, va notato in particolare che nel 2020 il suo team ha ridotto i tempi di fermo del 37% e i costi di manutenzione per dose del 15%. Il personale addetto alla manutenzione ha colmato più di 250 lacune di competenza e sono stati raggiunti gli obiettivi di sicurezza: zero incidenti.
Entrambe le organizzazioni, EFNMS e Fondazione Salvetti, si congratulano con Alexis, Ilkka e Fredrik e augurano loro successo nella professione. Durante il prossimo evento EuroMaintenance a Rotterdam avrà luogo la consegna formale del premio. Salvetti conferma: “Non vedo l'ora che arrivi EuroMaintenance a Rotterdam, dove NVDO, Ahoy Rotterdam ed EFNMS gestiranno un'eccellente conferenza e Rotterdam sarà la Maintenance Capital of Europe. Sarò lì!“

Salvetti Foundation will be present at EuroMaintenance, …of course!
''To help create a network for young maintenance professionals and to assist them in the start and early development of their carreers''. That’s the mission of the Salvetti Foundation. The foundation aims to award excellence in maintenance management and contribute to bringing young maintenance professionals together. We need to retain  especially young professionals  in maintenace and motivate them in their careers in cooperation with EFNMS and relevant European Union-organisations. The Salvetti Foundation awards different categories of maintenance every two years: the European Maintenance Manager Award and the Scientific awards.
Scientific awards.
The Salvetti Foundation supports the work done on maintenance in the academic world. The objective of the academic awards is to promote, encourage and motivate the theoretical and applied R&D related to maintenance knowledge and practice amongst the students at the European Universities and Research Institutes.  A network of 24 professors support the review process. For each theses report has been reviewed by 2 independent professors. On Euromaintenance we will also congratulate the winning students. In this article we would like to focus on the EFNMS European Maintenance Manager Award.
EFNMS European Maintenance Manager Award.
EuroMaintenance welcomes the Salvetti Foundation in April 2023. It is with great pleasure then that, for the sixteenth time, EFNMS and the Salvetti Foundation will be able to award the winner of the EFNMS European Maintenance Manager Award (EMMA). The first time was in 1988 and ever since they presented the award to a worthy winner. This 16th contest, took a rather long period due to Corona issues. President Stefano Salvetti said: “We discussed extensively  how to organise a formal award ceremony after postponing EuroMaintenance 2020 and 2021 due to the pandamic. This time the EMMA Jury consisted of four members; myself, founder of the Foundation, two representatives of EFNMS and the Salvetti Foundation Secretary. All nominees met the stringent qualification criteria of the national maintenance societies who selected their candidates. After this national qualification the real challenge of the EMMA Jury started. All nominees actually earned at least a runner–up qualification.”
Congratulations to the winner.
The winner, Mr. Alexis Agustín Lárez Alcázarez was nominated by the Spanish Maintenance Association-AEM. The laureate is technical director at Enova Levante, a company specialized in technical services.  Salvetti said: “Alexis is an experienced leader associated with Asset Management and technical reliability in Spain and countries in Latin America.  He has more than 22 years international experience in various types of industry. He is Lead Auditor in Asset Management and quality systems based on ISO 55001 and ISO 9001. Additionally, he is University Lecturer in master and postgraduate programmes”. As shown in his cv, he possesses many certificates and skills: Eq, criticality and analysing tools as RCM, FMECA, RCA, and a strong knowledge of industry processes on strategic, tactical and operational level. He is author of the book ‘Tools of Reliability’. “Alexis is respected for his very broad experience and therefore a very welcome and appreciated speaker at international conferences”, according to the jury.  A number of published and registered papers from him can be found in international magazines.  Salvetti mentiones as well that Alexis has a PhD Degree in computer technology and environmental engineering. Skills which he practised as leader in the cement industry when he was involved in the implementation of the environmental standard ISO14001. These environment related skills become more and more important as maintaining assets should support new sustainability goals. For these highlights in Alexis carrier the jury unanimous concluded that he should be the winner of the European Maintenance Manager Award 2021.
Runners-up.
Next to the winner there are two excellent runners up which should be mentioned. On behalf of the Finnish Maintenance Society, mister Ilkka Palsola was nominated. Ilkka retired in 2015 after a long and very successful carrier in a variety of positions for the global chemical company Kemira. Over the last years of his employment he acted as global expert and engineering team leader in the pulp and paper fabrication. In his last position he acted as global engineering director supporting all production sites. Ilkka is a very respected and valuable board member of Promaint and member of the EFNMS certification committee.
From the Swedish Maintenance Society, mister Fredrik Blomkvist was nominated. Fredrik is maintenance manager for the AstraZeneca pharmaceutical packaging factory in Södertälje. His journey to improve a number of maintenance processes started in 2017. Among a number of excellent achievements, it should be especially noted that in 2020 his team reduced downtime with 37% and maintenances cost per dose with 15%. Maintenance staff closed more than 250 competence gaps and safety goals were met: Zero incidents.
Both organisations, EFNMS and the Salvetti Foundation congratulate Alexis, Ilkka and Fredrik and wish him success in their profession. During the next EuroMaintenance event in Rotterdam the formal handover of the award will take place. Salvetti said: “I am looking forward to EuroMaintenance at Rotterdam where the NVDO, Ahoy Rotterdam and EFNMS will take care of an excellent conference and Rotterdam will be the Maintenance Capital of Europe. I will be there!”.

Benemeriti al Meeting d’Apertura A.I.MAN.
Presso il Museo Storico Alfa Romeo “La Macchina del tempo”, tornano gli eventi in presenza di A.I.MAN.: questa giornata è stata anche l’apertura ufficiale de Il Mese della Manutenzione – Maggio 2022. Bruno Sasso, Presidente A.I.MAN. ha aperto il meeting che presentava il calendario delle attività di A.I.MAN. e l’Assemblea dei Soci. In questo contesto sono state illustrate, a cura di Cristian Son (Responsabile Marketing & Relazioni Esterne) le sezioni tematiche dell’Associazione e le fasi de Il Mese della Manutenzione. Infine sono state consegnate targhe a Soci benemeriti, tra cui Stefano Salvetti (in foto), Presidente della Fondazione Salvetti, e Franco Santini, Socio della Fondazione Salvetti. Ambedue sono stati in passato Presidenti A.I.MAN. e EFNMS.

Meritorious members at Opening Day A.I.MAN.
At the Alfa Romeo Historical Museum "La Macchina del tempo", events are back in the presence of A.I.MAN.: this day was also the official opening of Maintenance Month - May 2022. Bruno Sasso, President of A.I.MAN. opened the meeting that presented the calendar of A.I.MAN's activities. and the Shareholders' Meeting. In this context, the thematic sections of the Association and the phases of The Month of Maintenance were illustrated by Cristian Son, Marketing & External Relations Manager. Premio Fondazione Salvetti
Stefano Salvetti, Presidente della Fondazione, al Concorso 2022 ‘I giovani e le scienze’ premia il progetto ‘Stazione Meteorologica Open Source - Monitoraggio ambientale decentralizzato e scolastico’, realizzato da Mattia Mascarello, Lorenzo Della Piana e Luca Savio Biello del Liceo Scientifico Statale “Leonardo Cocito” di Alba (Cuneo). La stazione meteorologica è stata realizzata con componenti relativamente economici. I dati raccolti sono visualizzati pubblicamente sul sito web della scuola. I dati raccolti (non solo qualità dell’aria, umidità, pressione, temperatura) hanno il valore aggiunto di insegnare agli studenti elementi di informatica (in particolare interfacciamento con hardware, archiviazione dati, e comunicazioni di rete), statistica e meteorologia. Le misurazioni acquisite possono essere utilizzate anche per fornire uno strumento decisionale alle autorità locali o per integrare i dati degli istituti professionali. Gli studenti vincitori del Premio parteciperanno a GENIUS Olympiad 2022, competizione internazionale ambientale, scienza, ingegneria, musica, arte, virtuale, che si svolgerà a Rochester (NY–Usa), 16-18 giugno 2022. Salvetti Foundation Award
Stefano Salvetti, President of the Foundation, at the 2022 Competition 'Young people and science' rewards the project 'Open Source Meteorological Station - Decentralized and school environmental monitoring', created by Mattia Mascarello, Lorenzo Della Piana and Luca Savio Biello of the Liceo Scientifico Statale " Leonardo Cocito "of Alba (Cuneo). The weather station was built with relatively inexpensive components. The collected data is publicly displayed on the school website. The data collected (not just air quality, humidity, pressure, temperature) have the added value of teaching students elements of computer science (in particular interfacing with hardware, data storage, and network communications), statistics and meteorology. The acquired measurements can also be used to provide a decision-making tool to local authorities or to supplement data from vocational institutes. The winning students of the Prize will participate in GENIUS Olympiad 2022, an international environmental, science, engineering, music, art, virtual competition, which will take place in Rochester (NY-Usa), June 16-18, 2022. I VINCITORI DEL  33°    CONCORSO EUROPEO “I GIOVANI E LE SCIENZE”- Selezione italiana.
Il Concorso Europeo  “I Giovani e le Scienze” si è svolto presso la FAST-Federazione delle Associazioni Scientifiche e Tecniche di Milano, con il patrocinio e il supporto di varie istituzioni tra cui la Fondazione Salvetti.
Sono una settantina (14-20 anni) i giovani che hanno partecipato alla 33° edizione della selezione italiana del prestigioso concorso europeo. Gli stand con ben 28 studi, progetti e prototipi innovativi (22 italiani e 6 internazionali) sono stati in mostra, aperti al pubblico per tre giorni. Sono state presentate soluzioni innovative per l’ambiente e la sostenibilità (es. biomattoni, es. ecofilter); robot, droni, prototipi per la salute e la mobilità sostenibile (es. progetto Vega Robot, etc.); studi di chimica e arte (es. progetto sui Corali di Papa Pio V; es. progetto Glutatione); idee nuove per combattere l’inquinamento (es. progetto Glypho Remover; uso pneumatici esausti per catturare ioni di metalli pesanti) : sono solo alcuni degli esempi dei numerosi ed interessanti lavori premiati dalla Commissione europea oggi (11 aprile) a Milano. Testimoniano la qualità delle menti dei giovani italiani, di età compresa tra i 14 e i 20 anni di tutta Italia e dimostrano come la ricerca non si fermi mai. I migliori che rappresentano l’Italia alla finale europea 33° EUCYS - concorso dell’Unione europea per i giovani scienziati – prevista a Leiden  in Olanda dal 13 al 18 settembre-  sono proposti da: Davide Frena, Gianmaria Grotta, Dominick Riz dell’Istituto Rainerum di Bolzano con il progetto intitolato “Analisi Batimetrica tramite Dati Georeferenziati con Drone Acquatico”, che consiste nell’aver realizzato B.A.G.D.A.D. , un’imbarcazione creata da loro, molto utile per il moni­toraggio delle sedimentazioni nei fondali di bacini idrici artificiali. Si tratta di un drone acquatico in grado di effettuare le misurazioni della profondità del fondale, controllan­done la variazione nel tempo. L’altro lavoro è fatto da Marco Carnevale, Filippo Cazzola, Luca Bincoletto dell’ITAS Carlo Gallini di Voghera (Pavia): “Sistema di controllo da remoto delle api”; hanno ideato un innovativo dispositivo elettronico in grado di rilevare il peso complessivo dell’arnia, le concentrazioni di CO2, di composti organici volatili e i valori di temperatura ed umidità interna ed esterna all’arnia per monitorare meglio il loro benessere. La giuria, formata da ricercatori, esperti, imprenditori di rilievo italiano ed internazionale ha elargito attestati, prestigiosi riconoscimenti e i ragazzi hanno vinto pure la possibilità di viaggiare e di aderire ad altri prestigiosi contest internazionali. ”Questo concorso infatti - spiega il presidente della FAST Roberto Buccianti - è un punto di partenza non di arrivo, in quanto proietta gli studenti meritevoli verso altre mete importanti: in primis la finale europea EUCYS; ma poi consente ai selezionati finalisti nazionali di poter presentare i loro prototipi, studi, ricerche anche all’estero in altre competizioni con cui lavoriamo in rete da anni e di vincere numerosi altri riconoscimenti internazionali. Soprattutto è un’occasione per crescere e per comprendere che la ricerca, in tutti gli ambiti, apre la mente e aiuta a fare networking”. www.fast.mi.it

THE WINNERS OF THE 33rd EUROPEAN CONTEST "YOUNG SCIENTISTS" - Italian selection.
The “Young Scientists” European Contest was held at the FAST-Federation of Scientific and Technical Associations of Milan, with the patronage and support of various institutions including the Salvetti Foundation. About seventy (14-20 years old) young people took part in the 33rd edition of the Italian selection of the prestigious European competition. The stands with 28 innovative studies, projects and prototypes (22 Italian and 6 international) were on display, open to the public for three days. Innovative solutions for the environment and sustainability were presented (eg. Biombricks, eg. Ecofilter); robots, drones, prototypes for health and sustainable mobility (e.g. Vega Robot project, etc.); chemistry and art studies (eg project on the Chorales of Pope Pius V; eg Glutathione project); new ideas to combat pollution (eg the Glypho Remover project; use of exhausted tires to capture heavy metal ions): these are just some of the examples of the numerous and interesting works awarded by the European Commission today (11 April) in Milan. They testify to the quality of the minds of young Italians aged between 14 and 20 from all over Italy and show how research never stops. The best representatives of Italy at the 33rd EUCYS European final - European Union competition for young scientists - scheduled in Leiden in the Netherlands from 13 to 18 September - are proposed by: Davide Frena, Gianmaria Grotta, Dominick Riz of the Institute Rainerum of Bolzano with the project entitled "Bathymetric Analysis through Georeferenced Data with Aquatic Drone", which consists in having created B.A.G.D.A.D., a boat created by them, very useful for monitoring sedimentation in the depths of artificial water basins. It is an aquatic drone capable of measuring the depth of the seabed, controlling its variation over time. The other work is done by Marco Carnevale, Filippo Cazzola, Luca Bincoletto of ITAS Carlo Gallini in Voghera (Pavia): "Remote control system for bees"; have devised an innovative electronic device capable of detecting the overall weight of the hive, the concentrations of CO2, volatile organic compounds and the values ​​of temperature and humidity inside and outside the hive to better monitor their well-being. The jury, made up of researchers, experts, entrepreneurs of Italian and international importance has bestowed certificates, prestigious awards and the boys have also won the opportunity to travel and join other prestigious international contests. “This competition in fact - explains the president of FAST Roberto Buccianti - is a starting point not an arrival, as it projects deserving students towards other important destinations: first of all the EUCYS European final; but then it allows the selected national finalists to be able to present their prototypes, studies, research even abroad in other competitions with which we have been working online for years and to win numerous other international awards. EUROMAINTENANCE  2021 - European Maintenance Manager Award
Il nuovo Segretario Generale della Fondazione Salvetti, Scholte Strikwerda, ci aggiorna sull’esito del Premio EMMA.
È con grande piacere che, per la sedicesima volta, EFNMS e Fondazione Salvetti annunciano il vincitore dell'EFNMS European Maintenance Manager Award - EMMA. La prima volta è stata nel 1988 e da allora il Premio è sempre stato assegnato a un degno vincitore. Questo sedicesimo concorso è stato un po’ più complesso a causa della pandemia di Corona virus. Si è discusso ampiamente su come organizzare una cerimonia di premiazione formale dopo il rinvio di EuroMaintenance 2020 e 2021. La Giuria ha esaminato attentamente e in modo approfondito le caratteristiche di ciascun candidato. Questa volta la Giuria dell'EMMA era composta da quattro membri: Stefano Salvetti come Presidente della Fondazione Salvetti, Agnieszka Tubis (Polonia) e Herman Baets (Belgio) come rappresentanti di EFNMS, Hans van Selm come Segretario generale della Fondazione Salvetti. Tutti i candidati hanno soddisfatto i severi criteri di qualificazione delle Società di manutenzione nazionali che hanno selezionato i loro candidati. Dopo questa qualificazione nazionale è iniziata la vera sfida della Giuria EMMA: selezionare il migliore: Primus inter Pares! In realtà tutti i candidati hanno effettivamente guadagnato la qualificazione al secondo posto. Prima di menzionare il vincitore dell'EMMA-Award 2021 ecco i 2 secondi classificati:

Alexis è un leader esperto associato alla gestione patrimoniale e all'affidabilità tecnica in Spagna e nei paesi dell'America Latina; ha più di 22 anni di esperienza internazionale in vari tipi di industria; è Lead Auditor in asset management e sistemi di qualità basati su ISO55001 e ISO 9001; inoltre, è docente universitario in programmi di master e post-laurea. Nel suo curriculum indica molti certificati e competenze. Eq, criticità e strumenti di analisi come RCM, FMECA, RCA e una forte conoscenza dei processi di settore a livello strategico, tattico e operativo; è autore del libro “Tools of Reliability”. Alexis è rispettato per la sua esperienza molto ampia ed è un relatore molto gradito e apprezzato a conferenze internazionali. Numerosi suoi articoli pubblicati e registrati sono disponibili su riviste internazionali. Va anche menzionato che Alexis ha un dottorato di ricerca in tecnologia informatica e ingegneria ambientale; competenze che ha esercitato come leader nell'industria del cemento quando è stato coinvolto nell'implementazione della norma ambientale ISO14001. Queste abilità legate all'ambiente diventano sempre più importanti poiché il mantenimento delle risorse dovrebbe supportare nuovi obiettivi di sostenibilità. Per i punti salienti sopra menzionati nel vettore di Alexis, la giuria ha concluso all'unanimità di considerarlo vincitore dell'European Maintenance Manager Award 2021.

EUROMAINTENANCE  2021 - European Maintenance Manager Award
The new General Secretary of the Salvetti Foundation, Scholte Strikwerda, updates us on the outcome of the EMMA Award.
It is with great pleasure that, for the sixteen time, EFNMS and the Salvetti Foundation were able to announce the winner of the EFNMS European Maintenance Manager Award - EMMA. The first time was in 1988 and ever since we presented the Award to a worthy winner. This 16th contest, took a rather long period due to Corona issues. We discussed extensively  how to organise a formal award ceremony after postponing EuroMaintenance 2020 and 2021. The Jury has carefully and thoroughly reviewed the submissions of each nominee. This time the EMMA Jury consisted of four members; Stefano Salvetti, founder of the Salvetti foundation (chair); 2 representatives of EFNMS, from Poland, Agnieszka Tubis and Herman Baets from Belgium; Hans van Selm, from the Salvetti Foundation (secretary). All nominees met the stringent qualification criteria of the national maintenance societies who selected their candidates.  After this national qualification the real challenge of the EMMA Jury started: select from the good the best: The Primus inter Pares!  In other words, all nominees actually earned at least a runner–up qualification. Before we mention the winner of the 2021 EMMA-Award we would like to announce the 2 runners-up first:
From the Finnish maintenance society, “FMS”. Mr. Ilkka Palsola. Ilkka retired in 2015 after a long and very successful carrier in a variety of positions for the global chemical company Kemira. Over the last years of his employment he acted as global expert and engineering team leader in the pulp and paper fabrication. In his last position he acted as global engineering director supporting all production sites. IIkka is still a very respected and valuable board member of Promaint and member of the EFNMS certification committee.
From the Swedish maintenance society, “RSU” Mr. Fredrik Blomkvist. Fredrik is maintenance manager for the AstraZeneca pharmaceutical packaging factory in Södertälje. His journey to improve a number of maintenance processes started in 2017. Among a number of excellent achievements, it should be especially noted that in 2020 his team reduced downtime with 37% and maintenances cost per dose with 15%. Maintenance staff closed more than 250 competence gaps and safety goals were met. “Zero incidents “.
The winner, Mr. Alexis Agustin Lárez Cazáres was nominated by the Spanish maintenance association “AEM”. The laureate is technical director at Enova Levante, a company specialized in technical services.  Alexis is an experienced leader associated with asset management and technical reliability in Spain and countries in Latin America.  He has more than 22 years international experience in various types of industry. He is Lead Auditor in asset management and quality systems based on ISO55001 and ISO 9001. Additionally, he is University Lecturer in master and postgraduate programmes. As shown in his cv he possesses many certificates and skills. Eq, criticality and analysing tools as, RCM, FMECA, RCA, and a strong knowledge of industry processes on strategic, tactical and operational level. He is author of the book Tools of Reliability. Alexis is respected for his very broad experience and therefore a very welcome and appreciated speaker at international conferences.  A number of published and registered papers from him can be found in international magazines.  It should also be mentioned that Alexis has a PhD Degree in computer technology and environmental engineering. Skills which he practised as leader in the cement industry when he was involved in the implementation of the environmental standard ISO14001. These environment related skills become more and more important as maintaining assets should support new sustainability goals. For above mentioned highlights in Alexis carrier the jury unanimous concluded that he should be the winner of the European Maintenance Manager Award 2021.
Both organisations, EFNMS and the Salvetti Foundation congratulate Alexis, Ilkka and Fredrik and wish him success in their profession. During the next EuroMaintenance event in Rotterdam the formal handover of the award will take place.

La Giuria ha completato le valutazioni dei candidati. Il vincitore è risultato l’Ing. Andrea Bottazzi della Società TPER di Bologna. Visto l’alto profilo, la Giuria ha deciso di conferire anche una menzione di merito all’Ing. Massimo Romairone della Hitachi Rail.
La cerimonia di premiazione è stata trasmessa in streaming in occasione del XXIX Congresso AIMAN, il 30 novembre. Anche quest’anno il Premio è stato realizzato con il contributo della Fondazione Salvetti.

The Jury has completed the evaluations of the candidates. The winner was Eng. Andrea Bottazzi of the TPER Company of Bologna. Given the high profile, the Jury decided to also award a mention of merit to Eng. Massimo Romairone of Hitachi Rail.
The awards ceremony whose streamed on the occasion of the XXIX AIMAN Congress, on November 30th. Also this year the Prize was realized with the contribution of the Salvetti Foundation.

EUCYS 2021: premiati i tre progetti italiani.
A seguito del Concorso per giovani scienziati organizzato dalla FAST di Milano e patrocinato dalla Fondazione Salvetti, si è svolta la finale europea del Concorso EUCYS.
Con il progetto intitolato ‘Bolle interstellari distorte: un nuovo modello matematico e computazionale' lo studente Giovanni Benetti (nato nel 2002) dell'IIS Mario Rigoni Stern di Asiago (VI) vince il secondo premio (5mila euro) del concorso annuale EUCYS della Direzione generale Ricerca della Commissione europea. Giovanni è uno dei premiati della selezione italiana dello scorso aprile, scelti per rappresentare l'Italia alla finale europea svoltasi a Salamanca in Spagna in modalità ibrida.
Successo anche per gli altri due gruppi intervenuti online al concorso. I tre studenti del Galilei di Jesi (AN) Leonardo Cerioni (2002), Linda Paolinelli (2002), Matteo Santoni (2002), con il loro lavoro ‘Laying waste to energy problems - L'avanguardia dell'autosufficienza energetica‘ vincono 3mila euro del “Iberdrola Prize”. EU Contest for Young Scientists (EUCYS) the three Italian projects were awarded.
Following the competition for young scientists organized by the FAST of Milan and sponsored by the Salvetti Foundation, the European final of the EUCYS Competition took place. With the project entitled 'Distorted interstellar bubbles: a new mathematical and computational model' the student Giovanni Benetti (born in 2002) of the IIS Mario Rigoni Stern of Asiago (VI) wins the second prize (5 thousand euros) of the annual EUCYS competition of the Directorate-General for Research of the European Commission. Giovanni is one of the winners of the Italian selection last April, chosen to represent Italy at the European final held in Salamanca in Spain in hybrid mode. Success also for the other two groups that took part online in the competition. The three students of Galilei di Jesi (AN) Leonardo Cerioni (2002), Linda Paolinelli (2002), Matteo Santoni (2002), with their work 'Laying waste to energy problems - The vanguard of energy self-sufficiency' win 3 thousand euros of the “Iberdrola Prize”. GIOVANI SCIENZIATI 2021
Un progetto su “bolle interstellari distorte”, uno studio per una soluzione innovativa di autosufficienza energetica, un particolare sistema di nanosensori per proteggere il riso da agenti chimici: sono i tre progetti che rappresenteranno l’Italia alla finale europea di EUCYS, concorso europeo della Direzione generale Ricerca della Commissione europea, prevista a Salamanca in Spagna a settembre. Sono il risultato rispettivamente dei lavori di uno studente veneto, tre giovani delle Marche e una ragazza e un ragazzo del Piemonte come i migliori talenti della selezione italiana organizzata ogni anno dalla FAST–Federazione delle associazioni scientifiche e tecniche, svoltasi quest’anno on line causa pandemia sanitaria e conclusasi il 12 aprile.
“Il concorso è il più prestigioso appuntamento a livello comunitario per i giovani tra i 14 e i 20 anni; è voluto dalla Commissione europea, dal Parlamento europeo e dal Consiglio dell’Unione europea; valorizza i talenti in tutte le materie non solo in quelle scientifiche; elargisce premi in denaro, viaggi, attestati di eccellenza” spiega Alberto Pieri, segretario generale FAST. L’elenco dei premi e dei vincitori è pubblicato sul sito della Fondazione Salvetti nella sezione “I giovani e le scienze”. I lavori riguardano diversi campi dall’ambiente, all’efficienza energetica, alla robotica, alla disabilità, all’agricoltura, alla salute, a testimonianza del fatto che i giovani di oggi sono molto attivi in tutti gli ambiti, curiosi e davvero innovativi.
I finalisti partecipano ad altri rilevanti contest internazionali, quest’anno spesso per via telematica, quali Regeneron ISEF e GENIUS Olympiad negli Stati Uniti, CASTIC in Cina, LIYSF a Londra, SJWP a Stoccolma, IEYI in Russia, BUCA IMSEF in Turchia, FeNa Dante e MOSTRATEC in Brasile, TISF a Taipei e ad altre opportunità in Belgio, Tunisia, Spagna. I selezionati ricevono pure dei “certificati di merito” di prestigiose istituzioni tecnico scientifiche europee ed internazionali.

YOUNG SCIENTISTS 2021
A project on "distorted interstellar bubbles", a study for an innovative solution of energy self-sufficiency, a particular system of nanosensors to protect rice from chemical agents: these are the three projects that will represent Italy at the European final of EUCYS, the European contest of European Commission's Directorate-General for Research, expected in Salamanca in Spain in September. They are the result respectively of the works of a student from Veneto, three young people from the Marche and a girl and a boy from Piedmont as the best talents of the Italian selection organized every year by the FAST-Federation of scientific and technical associations, held this year on line due health pandemic and ended on 12 April. “The competition is the most prestigious appointment at a community level for young people between 14 and 20 years of age; it is wanted by the European Commission, the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union; enhances talents in all subjects not only in science; it gives out cash prizes, trips, certificates of excellence” explains Alberto Pieri, general secretary of FAST. The works cover various fields from the environment, energy efficiency, robotics, disability, agriculture, health, testifying to the fact that today's young people are very active in all areas, curious and truly innovative. The finalists participate in other relevant international contests, this year often telematically, such as Regeneron ISEF and GENIUS Olympiad in the United States, CASTIC in China, LIYSF in London, SJWP in Stockholm, IEYI in Russia, BUCA IMSEF in Turkey, FeNa Dante and MOSTRATEC in Brazil, TISF in Taipei and other opportunities in Belgium, Tunisia, Spain. The selected candidates also receive "certificates of merit" from prestigious European and international technical scientific institutions. Italian Maintenance Manager Award - First edition
The Italian Maintenance Manager Award is a prize established by the A.I.MAN. - Italian Maintenance Association, with the aim of recognizing excellent results achieved in the role of Maintenance Manager, and is sponsored by the Salvetti Foundation. The Award is intended for individuals who can demonstrate the achievement of innovative projects and excellent performance, thanks to the introduction of new solutions as regards management, organization, technique and/or maintenance technologies in companies where are found to operate in their professional life.

The Jury of the Prize is made up of two experts from the technical community and two experts from the scientific community, with delegation for the proposal of the candidate for the Prize. The President A.I.MAN. acts as chairman of the Jury, proposing the nomination for the Final Ratification Award to the Board of Directors of the Association.
The winner will be awarded during the 4th Conference of the Italian Maintenance Observatory 4.0, scheduled for November 2020. The event will be an opportunity for a presentation by the rewarding with the aim of illustrating his vision on the strategy of maintenance and future challenges for the development of the profession. PREMIAZIONI INTERNAZIONALI
Il Segretario Generale della Fondazione Salvetti è già all’opera per le prossime Premiazioni internazionali che avverranno durante il Congresso ‘EuroMaintenance & Maintenance Next2021 Exhibition’ della EFNMS, il 29 marzo 2021 a Rotterdam (NL). I premi sono: ‘Master of Science Thesis Award’ (MTA) e ‘Doctor of Philosophy Thesis Award’ (PTA). L'obiettivo di questi premi di eccellenza è quello di promuovere, incoraggiare e motivare la ricerca teorica e applicata e gli sviluppi in diversi argomenti relativi alla conoscenza e alla pratica della manutenzione tra gli studenti delle università e degli istituti di ricerca europei. Le principali aree di interesse sono: Ingegneria della manutenzione, Gestione della manutenzione, Tecnologie dell'informazione e della comunicazione per la manutenzione, Metodi e sistemi di modellazione della manutenzione, Servizi di manutenzione. I premi saranno assegnati dalla giuria presieduta dal  Prof. Marco Macchi del Politecnico di Milano, socio della Fondazione Salvetti.
Un altro Premio s’intitola ‘European Maintenance Manager’ (EMMA): è un apprezzamento per risultati straordinari nel campo della manutenzione, come riconosciuto dalla Maintenance Society. Il premio è rivolto a individui, team o istituzioni per eccezionali prestazioni e idee nell’applicazione di nuove tecnologie. Il premio non si limiterà alle attività di manutenzione industriale, ma si estenderà anche alla manutenzione in altri settori di attività, come ad esempio: manutenzione di autostrade, ospedali, servizi pubblici, aeroporti, patrimonio artistico, sistemi di trasporto pubblico. Il premio sarà assegnato dal segretario della Giuria EMMA, Hans van Selm, Segretario Generale della Fondazione Salvetti.

INTERNATIONAL AWARDS
The Secretary General of the Salvetti Foundation is already working on the next international awards that will take place during the 'EuroMaintenance & Maintenance Next2021 Exhibition' of the EFNMS on March 29, 2021 in Rotterdam (NL). The awards are: 'Master of Science Thesis Award' (MTA) and 'Doctor of Philosophy Thesis Award' (PTA). The aim of these excellence awards is to promote, encourage and motivate theoretical and applied research and developments in various topics related to knowledge and practice of maintenance among students of European universities and research institutes. The main areas of interest are: Maintenance Engineering, Maintenance Management, Information and Communication Technologies for Maintenance, Maintenance Modeling Methods and Systems, Maintenance Services. The prizes will be awarded by the jury chaired by Prof. Marco Macchi of the Politecnico di Milano, member of the Salvetti Foundation.
Another award is entitled 'European Maintenance Manager' (EMMA): it is an appreciation for extraordinary results in the field of maintenance, as recognized by the Maintenance Society. The award is aimed at individuals, teams or institutions for exceptional performances and ideas in the application of new technologies. The award will not be limited to industrial maintenance activities, but will also extend to maintenance in other sectors of activity, such as: maintenance of highways, hospitals, public services, airports, artistic heritage, public transport systems. The prize will be awarded by the secretary of the EMMA Jury, Hans van Selm, Secretary General of the Salvetti Foundation.

La manifestazione finale del Concorso era prevista su tre giorni con la partecipazione di studenti, insegnanti, pubblico, giuria e autorità, con esposizione dei progetti, visite guidate, conferenze (attesi Elisa Palazzi del Cnr di Torino e Marco Bersanelli, astrofisico dell’Università di Milano. Per via delle restrizioni dovute all’emergenza del Covid-19, che ha impedito la larga partecipazione delle precedenti edizioni, l’evento è stato ridotto ad una trasmissione in streaming. I premiati sono stati informati direttamente del Premio e delle prossime opportunità di viaggio all’estero per le quali sono stati accreditati.
Per la Fondazione Salvetti ha fatto parte delle Giuria del Concorso il socio Pietro Oriani, esperto di scienza e tecnologia. Il Presidente Stefano Salvetti ha inviato un messaggio di congratulazioni alla Fast con i complimenti a tutti gli studenti finalisti. Paolo Lutteri ha partecipato alla proclamazione dei premiati in streaming, con Angela Bracco, Presidente della Società Italiana di Fisica, Alberto Pieri, segretario generale della Fast, Laura Colombo, Ceo di Etass, Antonio Protopapa, Direttore Corepla. Sono intervenuti con video messaggi Giovanni Adorni, presidente AICA, Roberta Cocco, Assessore del Comune di Milano, e Massimo Gaudina, Capo Rappresentanza a Milano della Commissione Europea.
La Fondazione Salvetti ha sponsorizzato l’inrero evento, ma ha offerto un riconoscimento particolare a Ilaria Montanaro, Andrea Padoan e Matteo Porzio dell’ ITI Omar, Novara, per il progetto ‘Magic Cup’: un dispositivo di puntamento, fissato sull’aletta di un berretto ed azionato dal movimento del capo, che sostituisce il mouse di un PC che, a sua volta, è connesso tramite LAN al braccio Comau E.do. FAST AND SALVETTI FOUNDATION
In Milan on March 9, 2020, 30 projects of excellent Italian students were awarded with the selection for the European competition "Young Scientists 2020". The competition is the Italian stage of EUCYS, the most important European competition for students, wanted by the European Commission, the Parliament, the European Council and the Governments of the member States. The best students will also represent Italy in other prestigious world events reserved for the most deserving ones such as in 2020: REGENERON ISEF and GENIUS in the USA, BUCA IMSEF and INSPO in Turkey, IEYI in Russia, LIYSF in London, EUCYS in Spain, ESE ASIA in Abu Dhabi, Mostratec in Brazil, ESE AMLAT in Argentina, Expo Sciences in Mexico, TISF in Taipei, IFEST in Tunisia and others. The final event of the Competition was scheduled over three days with the participation of students, teachers, public, jury and authorities, with exhibition of the projects, guided visits, conferences (Elisa Palazzi of the CNR-Turin and Marco Bersanelli, astrophysicist of the University of Milan: due to the restrictions due to the emergency of Covid-19, which prevented the large participation of the previous editions, the event was reduced to a streaming broadcast. The winners were informed directly of the Prize and of the next opportunities for travel abroad for which they have been credited.
For the Salvetti Foundation, the member Pietro Oriani, an expert in science and technology, was part of the Jury of the competition. President Stefano Salvetti sent a congratulatory message to Fast with compliments to all finalist students. Paolo Lutteri participated in the announcement of the award winners in streaming, with Angela Bracco, President of the Italian Physical Society, Alberto Pieri, general secretary of Fast, Laura Colombo, CEO of Etass, Antonio Protopapa, Director Corepla. Giovanni Adorni, AICA President, Roberta Cocco, Councilor of the Municipality of Milan, and Massimo Gaudina, Head of Representation in Milan of the European Commission, intervened with video messages.
The Salvetti Foundation sponsored the event, but offered special recognition to Ilaria Montanaro, Andrea Padoan and Matteo Porzio of ITI Omar, Novara, for the 'Magic Cup' project: a pointing device, fixed on the flap of a cap and operated by the movement of the head, which replaces the mouse of a PC which, in turn, is connected via LAN to the Comau E.do arm (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SQYLjjoRzeE&feature=youtu.be).

Progetto: Cave Beast: la speleologia attraverso i robot.
I due studenti presentano un piccolo robot per esplorare ambienti angusti prima dell’intervento umano al fine di prevenire eventuali pericoli o danni. La costruzione del sistema richiede un anno; viene fatto prima un prototipo in legno e poi la macchina finale in alluminio. È dotato di una piccola fotocamera, specificamente una webcam, supervisionata in remoto da computer al fine di seguirne il percorso. I movimenti sono eseguiti da quattro ruote motrici connesse a piccoli motori elettrici. È equipaggiato con parecchi sensori utilizzati per prendere dati fra cui la temperatura, la pressione e l’altitudine dall’ambiente circostante al fine di scoprire quali siano le condizioni ottimali per l’intervento umano. Il telaio del robot, che ricopre l’intera sua superficie, è realizzato in alluminio. Il controllo remoto è basato su una connessione WiFi attraverso la quale si possono inviare comandi in tempo reale dal computer gestito da Emanuel e Luca. Il cervello del robot è composto da una nota scheda elettronica, Arduino, e computer di basso costo e prestazioni, il Raspberry Pi.

31st EU Contest for Young Scientists (EUCYS) - FAST Milan

Project: Cave Beast: speleology through robots.The two students present a small robot to explore cramped environments in order to prevent possible dangers or damage. The construction of the system takes one year; first a wooden prototype is made and then the final aluminum machine. It is equipped with a small camera, specifically a webcam, remotely supervised by computer in order to follow the path. The movements are performed by four driving wheels connected to small electric motors. It is equipped with several sensors used to take data including the temperature, pressure and altitude from the surrounding environment in order to find out what are the optimal conditions for human intervention. The robot frame, which covers the entire surface, is made of aluminum. The remote control is based on a WiFi connection through which you can send commands in real time from the computer managed by Emanuel and Luca. The brain of the robot is composed of a known electronic card, Arduino, and computers of low cost and performance, the Raspberry Pi.

Vincitori del 30° Concorso «I Giovani e le scienze», organizzato nel 2018 dalla FAST e sponsorizzato dalla Fondazione Salvetti, premiati dal Presidente della Repubblica  Sergio Mattarella.
Il Presidente della Repubblica Italiana ha conferito per il 2018 l’attestato d’onore di “Alfiere della Repubblica” a Giuseppe Bungaro, 18 anni di Fragagnano (Taranto), ideatore di uno stent pericardico per i pazienti sottoposti ad angioplastica. L’onoreficenza è stata assegnata anche a Nicolò Vallana, Luca Fermi e Edoardo Puce, 18 anni, di Rimini, che avevano realizzato un busto ortopedico flessibile, altamente tecnologico, che ha migliorato le condizioni di vita di un compagno di classe, uscito dal coma dopo un incidente. Lo scorso anno l’onoreficenza era toccata a Gabriele Mariello, Roberto Leone, Alessandro Bruno, di Gallipoli (Lecce) che avevano realizzato un rivestimento edibile a base di bava di chiocciola, aloe ed altre essenze naturali, per evitare infezioni conseguenti allo sviluppo di batteri nella frutta e verdura Nel 2016 «Alfiere della Repubblica» era stato nominato Valerio Pagliarino di Castelnuovo Calcea (Asti), per aver ideato come trasmettere i segnali a banda ultralarga attraverso una piccola antenna a laser collocata sui tralicci dell’alta tensione.

Winners of the 30th EU Contest for Young Scientists (EUCYS), organized by FAST in 2018 and sponsored by the Salvetti Foundation, awarded by the President of the Italian Republic Sergio Mattarella.
The President of the Italian Republic has assigned for 2018 the Certificate of Honor “Alfiere della Repubblica” to Giuseppe Bungaro, 18 years, from Fragagnano (Taranto), creator of a pericardial stent for patients undergoing angioplasty. The honor was also assigned to Nicolò Vallana, Luca Fermi and Edoardo Puce, 18, from Rimini, who had created a flexible, highly technological orthopedic bust, which improved the living conditions of a classmate who came out from the coma after an accident. Last year the honor went to Gabriele Mariello, Roberto Leone, Alessandro Bruno, from Gallipoli (Lecce) who had made an edible coating based on snail, aloe and other natural essences, to avoid infections resulting from the development of bacteria in fruit and vegetables In 2016 “Alfiere della Repubblica” was nominated Valerio Pagliarino from Castelnuovo Calcea (Asti) for the idea how to transmit ultra-wideband signals through a small laser antenna placed on high voltage pylons.

European Maintenance Manager Award, Anversa
European Maintenance Manager Award è un prestigioso premio europeo, che viene assegnato per prestazioni di manutenzione eccezionali. Il premio viene assegnato ogni due anni dalla Federazione europea delle associazioni nazionali di manutenzione (EFNMS) e dalla Fondazione Salvetti. Il premio premia le prestazioni di manutenzione applicando e promuovendo nuovi concetti, tecnologie e migliori pratiche.
Premio assegnato a: Marc De Kerf, Global expert asset en maintenance management; durante la sua carriera, l’ing. De Kerf ha lavorato allo sviluppo di concetti innovativi nel campo della manutenzione e dell'asset management, oltre che applicandoli ai lavori di manutenzione quotidiana nei vari stabilimenti BASF di Anversa; recentemente è stato promosso responsabile della diffusione di nuovi concetti e best practice in materia di manutenzione e gestione patrimoniale in tutti gli impianti petrolchimici di BASF nel mondo.

FORUM GIOVANI SCIENZIATI – FONDAZIONE SALVETTI
PREMIATI 'I GIOVANI E LE SCIENZE'
"I Giovani e le Scienze", la selezione per il concorso EUCYS dell’Unione europea, nel 2018 ha raggiunto il traguardo della 30° edizione. L’appuntamento è stato celebrato con la costituzione del Forum Giovani Scienziati, grazie al sostegno e alla collaborazione della Fondazione Salvetti.
Il Forum è il luogo di incontro tra i finalisti premiati delle varie edizioni, interessati a rimanere in contatto con quanti hanno condiviso il medesimo percorso anche se in anni diversi. Il Forum è la rete per lo scambio di informazioni e messa in comune delle esperienze tra quanti sono stati protagonisti nelle varie esposizioni organizzate dalla Fast a Milano, concorrendo e/o condividendo i premi assegnati.
Concretamente il Forum promuove l’incontro annuale tra i partecipanti durante lo svolgimento del Concorso ‘I Giovani e le Scienze’ e in altre occasioni, proponendo momenti conviviali ed eventi su tematiche di attualità riguardanti la scienza e la tecnologia, oltre a incontri con dirigenti industriali, professori, ricercatori, giornalisti scientifici.
Il coordinamento delle attività e del sito è affidato a un Comitato di gestione indicato da FAST e Fondazione Salvetti. L’adesione al Forum è gratuita.
